Had the opportunity to get lunch at Roots during a weekend . Firstly , The vibe of downtown Georgetown is great. Tried the Gyro sandwich and the and it’s worth every penny . Great service and great vibe ..
I’m loving the Santana feel in here tonight. Great live music. I’m a sucker for their Gyros. My husband loves the Southern Tacos. And don’t get me started on their pizza!! Every time I have come here I’ve never been disappointed with their live music. Love the scene the vibe. Olivia and Charles made a great team and thank you!!
I don't think Roots pizza gets enough credit. We had The chicken pesto and meat lovers pizza both or awesome. We also had the cheese board which had three kinds of cheese pesto jelly and apples as an appetizer, it was also excellent. They have a large selection of draft beers however sometimes they're not the coldest. This might be just because they do not chill their glasses.
Love the atmosphere. Live music, great food and local taps. Food was served quickly and it was good
I love this place. I'm from the northeast and finding good pizza that reminds me of what I grew up with is hard to find here, but Roots has satisfied my pizza cravings! Even better than 600 degrees. Which was our old go to. Sometimes they have bands or singers there that are always so talented. The pizzas are cooked up pretty quickly when we dine in too!
Service is inconsistent. The busier they are the better they are. Kids that work there are good and the food is always good. There was a drunk older man talking to people (harmless but annoying) and the staff was attentive and making sure all the female customers were left alone until he left. I come here every so often.
Update: After trying pizza at a pizza joint down the street, I can fairly say that Roots has the best pizza around and that includes the surrounding area of Roundrock and Austin. The dough, sauce, and cooked consistency is 5 stars!
Take a look at the pic of the pie, the dough looks hand crafted. Compared to the pies down the street, you'll see that theirs appear too uniform, almost premade in appearance...they may not be but they almost look too perfect and the results speak for themselves.
The place down the street is great for small gatherings as a purpose built pizza shop with average pizza and lots of beer on tap. Roots is great for groups small and large as a music venue with fantastic pizza and beer on tap.
The Pizza title goes to Roots!

Was running a Saturday errand to the Ace Hardware store in Georgetown because they were the only location that had what I was looking for, so, made a Sunday Drive of it and had a pie and some pints at Roots, downtown Georgetown.
Great location, right across from the courthouse downtown on 8th Street.
Small local music venue with great pizzas. Service was a miss but the venue was cool. Loved the Big Kahuna (if you can tolerate pineapple on your pizza). Everything was pricey as I read from other reviewers. Beer on tap was overpriced at over $7 a pint. I guess I'm spoiled at Brooklyn Heights at HH.
Pizza was also pricey but we really enjoyed it.
I bet it's great with live music.
Great atmosphere! I was here Monday evening and the guy behind the bar was attentive but was chill. The pizza was crisp and delish- “Kitchen Sink”. Great location.
